The Artist's comments about this art piece:

I'm truly in awe of the natural phenomenons of this world. Thus, I'm always watching for any sign of them. 'Eclipse' was created when the most recent hurricane began it's development. Naturally, as soon as I got word of the hurricane, my mind started thinking...wow, that would be cool to paint. Yes, it sparked my imagination, as any of God's beauty does. However, I guess, in a way...I wanted something a bit calmer than a hurricane (at least 'that' day.) I thought, maybe people could appreciate it more, if it was something that was striking, but not quite as dangerous. That's when my mind started off the beaten path of the hurricane, and right into the heart of an eclipse. Now, what could be more magnificent or beautiful then an eclipse?

About the Artist:

Rana Adamchick was born and raised in New York, in the suburbs of Manhattan. Whereas most students were reading books when they were growing up, Rana was looking for pictures that she could sketch. She soon found that she was able to capture the look that she could see, on paper. Eventually, this self-taught artist started creating murals on walls, for select clients in Beverly Hills, Ca. She learned how to paint -- by actually doing it, on someone's wall. Somewhere along the way, she realized that she not only had a love for this miraculous beauty called 'Earth,' but she had a 'natural talent' that few are able to tap into. Rana was always inspired by something her grandfather (a known artist) told her, when she was just a little girl. He said, "Some artists are taught, and some already know, deep inside their hearts."

Later, Rana's youngest son was diagnosed with a couple of learning deficits. She was informed that it was necessary to home-school him. Thus, working outside, at a conventional job, became impossible. Creating art not only had to become a fun family activity that everyone was involved in, but it also had to become an educational tool for her son, and a way to make a living for the family. However, somewhere along the way, Rana realized that you can't just paint on walls, because sooner or later -- you run out of walls to paint. So, for the first time in her life, she picked up some 'real canvas' and began creating 'portable' beauty! She wasn't about to allow staying at home to stop her from communicating her love for this world, with others.

A bit about her work:

Her landscapes and seascapes feature sights that exude a sense of warmth -- a calmness not often seen in this world of frenzy. Many of her paintings show water tones of deep blues, often with sparkles of silver, shimmering through them. Brilliant Pinks and shades of turquoise, exude from many of her pieces. Each appears to call out to one's senses, as if you're really there. Shadows are soft and velvety, and usually beckon to one's deepest side. Everything -- the sailboats, the water, the skies and the lands, scream "Nature -- I am in awe of your beauty." In fact, the brightness, and her love of nature, is evident in most of her exterior scenes. Rana's goal...to capture 'Art from the heart!'
